Blaine Haskell Brower

Funeral services for Blaine Haskell Brower, 88, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 5, 2017 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

 

Mr. Brower passed away at 2:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at his home.

 

He was born October 17, 1928, at Webb City, Oklahoma, to Roy Brower and Nellie Fine Brower.  He graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1946.  On April 17, 1947, he was married at Salem, Arkansas, to Beulah Mae “Tiny” Williams, who preceded him in death on June 3, 2003.  Mr. Brower was a veteran, having served with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He had been a policeman for the City of West Plains, a deputy for the Howell County Sheriff’s Office and was employed for twenty years with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, retiring as a criminal investigator.  He had also worked for Frisco Railroad, investigating railroad accidents.  Mr. Brower was a 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite, St. Louis; York Rite, Mountain Grove, Abou Ben Adhem, Springfield, Missouri, Eastern Star and West Plains Lions Club.  Mr. Brower was a member of the First Baptist Church, West Plains.

 

He is survived by two nieces, Dianna Steadman and husband, Mike and Linda Watkins and husband, Jim; and five great-nieces and great-nephews.

 

His parents, wife, one brother, Wayne Brower and two sisters, Bernice Williams and Alieen Jester, precede him in death.

 

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, First Baptist Church or American Heart Association and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
