Mary Lucille Hoglen

Funeral services for Mary Lucille Hoglen, 87, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

 

Mrs. Hoglen passed away at 6:26 a.m., Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Brooke Haven Health Care.

 

She was born July 3, 1929, at Rich Hill, Missouri, to Ira Newton King and Sarah Lea Malcolm King.  She was one of ten children.   On September 5, 1946, she was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Ralph Hoglen, who preceded her in death on September 28, 2011.  Lucille worked side by side with her husband on their farm.  She also worked in the cafeteria at Ozarks Medical Center.  She loved to cook and sew and enjoyed gardening and making crafts for family and friends.  Mrs. Hoglen was a long time member of New Hope Baptist Church, Peace Valley, Missouri.  Lucille was devoted to her family and loved her grand dog “Lady.”

 

She is survived by her daughter, Judith Goodwin and husband, Robert; daughter-in-law, Patricia Hoglen; four grandchildren, Carrie Mulkey and husband, Dan, Eric Hoglen and wife, Emilie, Thomas Hoglen and wife, Ellicia and Christopher Hoglen; six great-grandchildren, Kristianne, Stephen, Juniper, Kylee, Lily and Zinnia; three sisters, Martha Scott and husband, Bob, Arletta Dover and husband, Hillis and June Northrup and husband, Ron; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Her parents, husband, one son, David Hoglen, three brothers, Louis Wilber “Sonny”, Jasper Lee and George Newton and three sisters, Beatrice Goswick, Nora Henson and Norma Bramell, precede her in death.

 

Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Saturday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Bible Society and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
