Charles Aborn

Funeral services Charles Lee Aborn, 56, Springfield, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 3, 2017 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

 

Mr. Aborn passed away at 11:25 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Cox Medical Center South.

 

He was born September 29, 1960 at West Plains, Missouri, to Robert Leroy Aborn and Lorene Hicks Aborn.  Chuck loved God, his family and friends.  He enjoyed reading, studying and gaining knowledge on many different subjects.  His family called him the eternal student.  Chuck worked at Holiday Inn North in Springfield, Missouri, for twenty-four years.  He made many friends, including co-workers and bosses at his work.  He remained friends with people who changed jobs many years ago.  Chuck was a member of Pathways United Methodist Church, Springfield, Missouri.  He loved the church and all of the people who attended.  He taught two Sunday school classes, was a member of the Methodist Men’s Ministry and was always willing to help when needed. 

 

Chuck was loved and will be missed by many.  He was always there when his family needed him.  His nephew, Jason Knox considered him his best friend.  His great-niece, Alison Knox called him “My Chucky Ducky”.

 

He is survived by his brother, Bob Aborn, West Plains, Missouri; his sister, Patricia Knox, Springfield, Missouri; his nephew, Jason Knox, Springfield, Missouri; his great-niece, Alison, Knox, Springfield, Missouri; and many cousins and friends.

 

His parents and brother-in-law, John Knox, preceded him in death.

 

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
