Delbert Lee Evans

 

Funeral services for Delbert Lee Evans, 70, Bakersfield, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 3, 2017 at Amy Baptist Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

 

Mr. Evans passed away at 11:15 p.m., Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Baxter Regional Medical Center.

 

He was born April 1, 1947, at Elijah, Missouri, to Cora “Imogene” Evans Mitchell.  Delbert graduated from Bakersfield High School with the Class of 1966.  On September 19, 1970, he was married at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Donna Rhine.  Mr. Evans was a veteran, having served with the United States Army.  He was a member of the Bakersfield V.F.W. and enjoyed his cattle, horses, going to flea markets and visiting while drinking coffee at The Bakersfield Cafe; above all he loved his family and church family.  Mr. Evans was a member of Amy Baptist Church.

 

He is survived by his wife, Donna Evans, of the family home; two children, Matthew Evans and wife, Amber, Bakersfield, Missouri and Kim Shrable, West Plains, Missouri; six grandchildren, Abbigayle Evans and fiancee, Cody Robinson, Dessirae Evans, Delbert Finn Evans, Kaleb Shrable and wife, Erin, Jacob Shrable and wife, Ashley and Noah Shrable; four great-grandchildren, Easton, Koy, Everly and Mavlynn; four brothers, Richard Mitchell, Donald Mitchell, Dale Evans and wife, Jackie and Clifton Evans and wife, Linda; four sisters, Peggy Tyler and husband, John, Pat Carrico and husband, Bill, Thelma Johnson and husband, Larry and Lillie Moss; one son-in-law, Ron Shrable; one sister-in-law, Pauline Evans; one brother-in-law, Tommy Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

 

His mother, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lee and Faye Rhine, his grandparents, Bill and Emeline Evans, three brothers, Bennie, Dallas and Junior Evans and one sister, Artice Brown, preceded him in death.

 

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Hawkins Ridge Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hawkins Ridge Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
