Alma Haddock DeWitt

Funeral services for Alma Haddock DeWitt, 96, West Plains, Missouri, will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2018 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. DeWitt died 8:05 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Ozarks Medical Center. She was born March 19, 1921 at Twin Bridges in Douglas County, Missouri to Charles Gilbert and Rosa Ann Tooley Gilbert.  On November 11, 1937, she was married at West Plains, Missouri to Harold Winfield Haddock who preceded her in death on August 24, 1985.  She was later married to Ray DeWitt who preceded her in death.  Mrs. DeWitt retired from the International Shoe Company of West Plains.  She enjoyed quilting having made may beautiful quilts for her friends and family; also, she enjoyed fishing with her husband, Harold.  Mrs. DeWitt was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mountain View, Missouri.

 

She is survived by two sons, Bill Haddock, wife, JoAnn West Plains, Missouri and James Haddock, wife, Beth, Lubbock, Texas; four grandchildren, Sherry Due, Christopher Haddock, Jennifer Haddock and Jamie Walker; eight great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorene Reavis, Clever, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Her parents, husbands, two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Klinger and Ora Gilbert and two brothers, Earl Gilbert and an infant brother, preceded her in death.

 

Mrs. DeWitt will lie in state from 4:00 p.m., Thursday, January 18th until service time, Friday, January 19th, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  On line condolences may be expressed at robertsondrago.com.
