Harvey Burl Holloway

Funeral services for Harvey Burl Holloway, 86, Rienzi, Mississippi, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

 

Mr. Holloway passed away at 4:32 p.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Methodist University Health Care, Memphis, Tennessee.

 

He was born March 22, 1931, at Lanton, Missouri, to Harve Benjamin Holloway and Alma “Faye” Murphy Holloway.  On April 25, 1951, he was married at Salem, Arkansas, to Opal Perkins.  Mr. Holloway was a veteran, having served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  He worked at Thomas Industries until he retired, then worked as a security guard at Acco.  Mr. Holloway was a Pentecostal Minister.

 

He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Opal Holloway; eight children, Debbie Cleary, Jerry Holloway, and wife, Cindy, Helen Holloway, Dorothy Wright and husband, David, Ray Holloway and wife, Anita, Sherrie Lambert and husband, Jim, Paul Holloway and Dianna Brown and husband, Brian; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Olive Harris, Grace Cole and Sonja Hughes, and many nieces and nephews.

 

His parents, one son, Bill Holloway, two grandchildren, David and Rena Holloway, one great-grandchild, Myleigh Parker, six brothers and two sisters, preceded him in death.

 

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the State Line Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to State Line Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
