Helen Maxine Long

Funeral services for Helen Maxine Long, 87, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 23, 2018 at Gospel Hill Church of Christ, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Long passed away at 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at her home.

 

She was born October 30, 1930, at Moody, Missouri, to James Willard Joice and Etta  Hardcastle Joice.  On April 3, 1954, she was married at Leota, Missouri, to Melvin Long, who preceded her in death on November 19, 2004.  Mrs. Long was a homemaker and had worked at Roho Foods for twelve years.  She enjoyed watching baseball and basketball games on TV and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Mrs. Long was a member of West 160 Church of Christ.

 

She is survived by two children, Randy Long and Glen Long and wife, Caroline, Pottersville, Missouri; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Austin Long, Abigail Long, Kellie Thomas and husband, Kane and their son, Kase and Tyler Long; two brothers, Donald Joice and wife, Emilie, Pottersville, Missouri and Earl Joice and wife, Ruby, Branson, Missouri; one sister, Stella Collins, Branson, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Linda Long, West Plains, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Her parents, husband, one son, Roy Lee Long, two brothers, Ernest and Charles Joice and two sisters, Dorothy Pointer and Mabeline Joice, preceded her in death.

 

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Gospel Hill Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Gospel Hill Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
