Funeral services for Wanda Lee Dawson Spence, 86, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Spence passed away at 5:25 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018 at NHC HealthCare.

 

 She was born February 15, 1932 at Sage, Arkansas the daughter of P. E. Womack and Maude Taylor Womack.  On July 22, 1949, she was married at Salem, Arkansas to J. T. (Jack) Dawson who preceded her in death on September 22, 2004.    On October 25, 2006, she was married at West Plains, Missouri to George Bryan Spence.  Before her retirement, Mrs. Spence had been employed at Eaton Corporation for twenty-five years.  She enjoyed cooking for her friends and family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and loved all of her family.  Mrs. Spence had been a long time member of the First General Baptist Church of West Plains.

 

She is survived by her husband, George Bryan Spence, West Plains, Missouri; three children, James Dawson, wife, Charlene, Ron Dawson, wife, Midge and Janice Thomas, all of West Plains, Missouri; two step-daughters, Beverly Spence, West Plains, Missouri and Carol Powell, husband, Joe, Denver, Colorado;  six grandchildren, Jeff Dawson, wife, Sandi, West Plains, Missouri, Angie Langston, husband, Justin, Jonesboro, Arkansas, Nathan Moss, wife, Khara, West Plains, Missouri, Kim Clinton, husband, Gary, Webb City, Missouri, Chris Dawson, wife, Kimberly, Liberty, Missouri and Jeremy Dawson, wife, Shelley, West Plains, Missouri; five step-grandchildren; Jimmy Thomas, wife, Jonnah, Willow Springs, Missouri, Jason Thomas, Jamie McGhee, husband, Darrell, Rusty Shipley, wife, Karen, all of West Plains, Missouri and Spencer Powell, Golden, Colorado; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Sue Langston, husband, Doyne, Batesville, Arkansas; two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Jennings, Cabot, Arkansas and Margaret Womack, Jonesboro, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, first husband, Jack; four brothers and one sister, precede her in death.

 

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 7th, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Bible Society or First General Baptist Church of West Plains and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
