Lorene Wilson

Funeral services for Lorene Wilson, 97, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2018 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Wilson passed away at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 29, 2018 at her home.

 

She was born October 5, 1920, at Pottersville, Missouri, to Zenephan Hickman “Hick” Callahan and Bertha Elvada Fox Callahan.  On September 21, 1938, she was married at Crider, Missouri, to Lloyd T. Wilson, who preceded her in death on March 23, 1968.  Mrs. Wilson had worked at Sharp’s Café and was a volunteer at the West Plains Senior Center.  She loved to garden and raise flowers.  Family was very important to Lorene; she was proud to help raise her daughter Patsy’s children.  She made sure when someone knocked on her door that they had a meal.  Mrs. Wilson was a Christian and had attended Church of Christ.

 

She is survived by six children, Betty Perkins and husband, Donnie, Koshkonong, Missouri, Sue Hicks, West Plains, Tom Wilson and wife, Connie, Springfield, Missouri, Judy Palmer, Marshfield, Missouri, Laverne Wilson, West Plains and Larry “PeeWee” Wilson, West Plains; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; fifty great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lewis L. Callahan and wife, Sharon, West Plains and Mickey Callahan and wife, Lois, Crider, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Her parents, husband, three infant children, two daughters, Jane Robinson and Patsy Ann May, one son, Terry Lynn Wilson, one son-in-law, Johnny Ray Hicks, one great-grandson, Jonathan Busby, three brothers, Luranza, John Henry and Thomas Callahan, and two sisters, Sarah May and Darlene Callahan, preceded her in death.

 

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Pottersville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.robertsondrago.com.
