Norman Boyd Brotherton

Funeral services for Norman Boyd Brotherton, 87, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

 

Mr.  Brotherton passed away at 7:00 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019 at his home. He was born March 10, 1932 in the Dripping Springs Community to Irvin Henry Brotherton and Edna Cora Bennett Brotherton.  On February 15, 1955, he was married at Long Beach, California to Linda Deloris Collins.  Mr. Brotherton was a veteran having served with the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956.  He was a passionate farmer for over 60 years.  He dearly loved his family and get togethers when everyone was together; his favorite was Christmas when everyone gathered around while he read the Christmas story.  Mr. Brotherton served as a Deacon at Immanuel Southern Baptist Church, Pomona, Missouri, since 1989; he has been a member since September, 1961.

 

He is survived by his wife, Deloris Brotherton, of the family home; five children, Doug Brotherton and wife, Brenda, Pomona, Missouri, Mike Brotherton and wife, Beckey, Pomona, Missouri, Debra Clinton and husband, Rick, Willow Springs, Missouri, Greta Bailey and husband, Mike, West Plains, Missouri and Norma Jean Reese and husband, John, West Plains, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Eric, Amber, Shane, Chase, Shannon, Landon, Andy, Rodney, Ashton and Taylor; sixteen great-grandchildren and a great-granddaughter due in August; and many nieces and nephews.

 

His parents, one great-grandson, Rowdy Brotherton, two brothers, Alvis Brotherton and Fed Brotherton, four sisters-in-law, Jean Brotherton, Hazel Collins, Betty Jo Collins and Barbara Jean Collins, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Ella Collins and five brothers-in-law, Melvin Collins, Eldon Collins, Gene Collins, Clifford Collins and Junior Roper, preceded him in death.

 

Mr. Brotherton will lie in state from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday at Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
