Samuel Allan Kirkland

Funeral services for Samuel Allan “Sam” Kirkland, 23, Caulfield, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2019 at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Sam passed away at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, August 15, 2019 near Salem and Viola, Arkansas.

He was born November 1, 1995, at West Plains, Missouri, to Bob Kirkland and Cindy Hardcastle Kirkland.  Sam graduated from Bakersfield High School with the Class of 2014 and was active in the agriculture classes.  He studied welding at the South Central Career Center.  He had worked at Ozark Regional Stockyards and was a farmer.  Sam was usually the life of the party where ever he went. He was always telling a joke or a story making everyone laugh. Sam never knew a stranger, he would talk to everyone and anyone, and if you wanted to talk about cattle he was your best friend. Sam loved God, loved his family, and friends. He loved being a cattleman and hunting. Sam would go out of his way to help everyone he knew, he always made it a point to stop by and see his old friends and meet new ones at the local county livestock shows.  He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Gospel Hill Church of Christ.

He is survived by his parents, Bob and Cindy Kirkland, Caulfield, Missouri; three brothers, Rickey Kirkland and wife, Courtney, Diamond, Missouri, Michael Kirkland and wife, Lisa, Caulfield, Missouri and Robbie Kirkland and wife, Hannah, Republic, Missouri; one nephew, Bryson Kirkland; one niece, Melody Kirkland; his aunts, Nancy Kirkland, Festus, Colorado, Barbara Kirkland, Kansas City, Missouri, Joyce Kirkland, Caulfield, Missouri, Mary Ruth Kirkland, West Plains, Missouri and Paula Davenport, Mountain Home, Arkansas; one uncle, Charles Hardcastle, Flippin, Arkansas; several cousins; and many friends.

His grandparents, Charlie and Chloe Kirkland and Leith and Cecil Hardcastle, seven uncles and one aunt, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Elijah Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
