Richard “Rick” Zapalowski

RICHARD “RICK” W. ZAPALOWSKI

 

Richard W. Zapalowski, 66, of Bakersfield, MO died December 12, 2020 at his residence. He was born June 16, 1954 in Bristol, England to Boleslaw and Kristina (Maniecka) Zapalowski.

 

Rick came to the United States at the age of four with his family. They settled in California. Once Rick became an adult, he traveled extensively and settled in the Ozarks with his wife and children 45 years ago. He lived in Tecumseh, MO and Mountain Home, AR before building his own home in Bakersfield, MO where he has spent the last 16 years with his beloved partner, Vicki Peters.

Rick worked as a contractor and carpenter, infusing his work with his creativity and craftsmanship. Rick was an avid mountain bikers, known as “Zap” to all his friends. Rick’s love for mountain biking inspired him to help build trails all across the area. Fellow bikers will be able to enjoy his many trails for generations to come. Rick loved being outdoors, as well as gardening, and spending time with his Australian Shepherd, “Dottie”.  He was loved and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

 

Rick was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his partner Vicki Peters of Bakersfield, MO; his four children Revati Seebauer of Springfield, MO, Varuni Hilton of Springfield, MO, Gopal Zapalowski of Austin, TX, Syam Zapalowski of Los Angeles, CA; his three grandchildren Ethan Seebauer, Hayden Seebauer, Oona Hilton; and his four siblings Ewa Barnes, Helen Degrass, Lech Zapalowski, and Pete Zapalowski.

 

No local services are planned at this time. Arrangements are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
