Mildred Delores Cradic 88 years, 7 months, 27 days old, a longtime and well respected Ava, Mo resident passed peacefully in her home with her family by her side as she entered those Heavenly gates to her eternal home to be with Jesus on January 2, 2021. She was born May 5, 1932, daughter of John and Ollie Ann McClure of Williamsville, Mo. Delores was a graduate of Williamsville High School in 1950 and was a member of the United Methodist church there. She moved to St. Louis after graduation where she became a nurses aid at Shriners Hospital.

 

On October 17, 1953 Delores was united in marriage to Bill Cradic in Pacific, Mo. The loving couple moved to Ava and to this union five children were born. They joined the Ava United Methodist Church. She was a faithful Christian who never said an unkind word and looked for the best in everyone. She was Baptized in the Black River at Markham Spring, Mo. and loved all of her family reunions also held at Markham Spring for many years.

Caring for children was her passion. She babysat so many through the years that those children and their families called her “Aunt De” and most of her Grands called her “DeDe”. She loved her grandchildren more than life itself and enjoyed traveling immensely. DeDe was a fighting warrior, battling kidney disease and smiled through it all.

 

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Bill and Jewell Cradic, infant twin daughters, Marilyn and Carolyn Cradic, one son Sgt. Michael Kenneth Cradic, one infant sister, Dorothy McClure and one brother-in-law Sgt. Ray Bilbrey. DeDe is lovingly survived by her husband Bill of 67 years, two daughters, Nancy Swofford and husband Mick of Ava, Melissa Holt and husband James of Ava, one daughter-in-law Natalie Cradic of Reston, VA., four grandchildren , Amy Cradic-Hayoz and husband Rick of Reston, VA., Brandon Cradic of Yorktown, VA., Brooke Elwood and husband Shawn of Columbus, KS. and Braden Michael Swofford of Ava. Seven great grandchildren, Alexander, Gabriel and Isabella Hayoz all of Reston, VA., Jayce Hunter, Casten, Brax and Myra Elwood all of Columbus, KS., one sister Glenda Bilbrey of Springfield, Mo., one sister-in-law Shirley McClure and husband Paul of Poplar Bluff, MO., one brother-in-law , Bob Cradic and wife Dee of San Diego, Ca.

 

Funeral services for Delores will be January 6, 2021 at 10:00 A.M.in the Ava United Methodist Church. Visitation will be January 5, 2021 at 5:30 to 7:30 in the Clinkingbeard Chapel Ava, Mo. Burial will be at 3:30 P.M. in the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Williamsville, Mo. Shawn Elwood will be bringing the message, Brooke Elwood will be doing the Eulogy and John Goldman will be reading the Obituary. In Lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that love offerings can be made to the Kidney Foundation or Cox Health at Home Hospice in loving memory of our sweet “DeDe”.
