Robert Wayne Morris

A memorial service for Robert Wayne Morris, 86, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2022 in the Rose Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

 

Mr. Morris passed away at 7:05 a.m., Thursday, December 30, 2021, at his home.

 

He was born October 7, 1935 at Biggs, Missouri, to McCampbell Morris and Emma Smith Morris.  Mr. Morris graduated from Dora High School with the Class of 1954.  On September 21, 1957, he was married at Hernando, Mississippi, to Aurora Josephine (Jo) White, who preceded him in death March 4, 1992.  Together they had two children.  He entered the Army in September 1958 and was stationed in Germany as a helicopter mechanic.  On January 31, 1996, he was married to Anna Loree Tilson, who preceded him in death June 21, 2013.  He gained six grown stepchildren from this marriage.  He was close to his stepchildren and loved them as his own.  Robert was a well-liked, kind, and soft-spoken man.  A very hard worker, he was a mechanic at C&H Garage for thirty years.  He then logged and operated his one-man sawmill for many years until he was unable to do so.  He was very ingenious and could fabricate and make things he needed from discarded items.  Mr. Morris loved old trucks and tractors.  He also loved playing the banjo and gospel music, gardening, and growing tomatoes and watermelons.  He was a member of Calvary General Baptist Church.

 

He is survived by two children, Bobbi McMahon and husband, Patrick, Willow Springs, Missouri, and Cindy Harper and husband, Rodney, West Plains, Missouri; six stepchildren, Jay Tilson and wife, BeAnn, Union, Missouri, LaRee Stevens and husband, Gary, West Plains, Missouri, Sherry Robinson and husband, Bruce, West Plains, Missouri, Lynda Johnson and husband, Linn, Tecumseh, Missouri, Tim Tilson and wife, Donna, West Plains, Missouri, and Jeff Tilson and wife, Sherri, West Plains, Missouri; two grandchildren, Leslie Harper and Jerry Harper; fifteen step-grandchildren, Lynn Weber, Sande Rachbaumer, Roni Weaver, Marty Witt, Kylea Phipps, Karri Pruiett, Shon Brubacker, Jon Brubacker, Lacey Roby, Casey Gale, Maddy Johnson, Lucas Johnson, Jenni Tilson, Jesse Tilson, and Amber Squires; and several step-great-grandchildren.

 

His parents, wives, four brothers, Harold Morris, Earl Morris, Omer Morris, and Charley Morris, and three sisters, Florence Turnbull, Ruby Wake, and Ruth Collins, preceded him in death.
