Leona Joyce McDonald

Funeral services for Leona Joyce McDonald, 82, Dora, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022, in the Rose Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. McDonald passed away at 10:06 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2022, at her home.

 

She was born March 18, 1939 at Topaz, Missouri, to Charley and Orpha Thornton Clinton.  She graduated from Willow Springs High School with the Class of 1957.  On February 27, 1959, she was married at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Robert McDonald.  Mrs. McDonald worked at Brown Shoe Factory for eighteen years.  She also milked cows for many years.  She loved the outdoors, especially tending to her flowers and working in her garden.  She enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales.  Mrs. McDonald never knew a stranger.  When she went somewhere, she always wanted to be the first to arrive and the last to leave.  She was a member of Big Springs Church.

 

She is survived by her husband, Robert, of the family home; five daughters, Charlene Causey and husband, Jay, Dora, Missouri, Kay Davis, Dora, Missouri, Lora Loftis and husband, Danny, Lebanon, Ohio, Robyn Mings and fiancé, Jeremiah Reahr, Tecumseh, Missouri, and Ashley Richison and husband, Eric, Warrensburg, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Darrin Causey and wife, Valerie, Robbie Causey and wife, Sarah, Todd Causey and wife, Brandi, Kyle Mings and fiancé, Laiken, Dakota Mings and wife, Kristi, Kayla Davis and husband, Josh, Cheyenne Mings, Skyler Davis, and Elijah Richison; eighteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Randy Clinton, Willow Springs, Missouri; one sister, Ruth Sheppard and husband, Stasey, Willow Springs, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Gerald Gasperson; five sisters-in-law, Carol McDonald, Davenport, Iowa, Della Dennis and husband, Jerry, Drury, Missouri, Carol Ball and husband, Larry, Vanzant, Missouri, Janice Osborn and husband, Ronnie, West Plains, Missouri, Janace Mitchell and husband, Loyd, Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Louise Dennis and husband, Clifford, Hobbs, New Mexico; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Eldon and Judy Russell, and Ed and Ina Friend.

 

Her parents, father- and mother-in-law, Mack and Lora McDonald, four brothers, Leon Clinton, Lenvil Clinton, Leroy Clinton, and Stanley Clinton, one sister, Bernice Gasperson, one sister-in-law, Oleta Clinton, and one brother-in-law, Ben McDonald, preceded her in death.

 

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Little Zion Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Little Zion Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 West Main, West Plains, MO  65775.
