Elsie Mae Patterson of Birch Tree, Missouri

Elsie Mae Patterson was born August 12, 1932, in Birch Tree, Missouri, to Arthur and Pauline (Barnes) Gosnell.  She departed this life on October 5, 2023, at Mountain View Healthcare in Mountain View, Missouri.

Elsie was united in marriage to Curtis Charles Patterson on September 15, 1950, and to this union one son, Terry, was born.  The family lived in several states before settling on the farm in Birch Tree.

Elsie liked to help Curtis on the farm and enjoyed working at MFA in Birch Tree. She also was employed by Paramount Cap for awhile.  Most recently, she enjoyed retirement while watching the horses on the farm where Curtis grew up.  Elsie had a great sense of humor and enjoyed jokes and pranks. She was a loyal and caring person. Most of all, Elsie loved the Lord.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Pauline; and husband of 70 years, Curtis.

Elsie is survived by her son, Terry Patterson (Debbie) of Independence, MO; brother, Melvin Gosnell of Bolivar, MO; grandchildren, C.J. and Julie; great-grandchildren, Shaina, Erica, Mathieu, Hailey, and Case; and great-great-grandchildren, Brylee, Allen, John, and Oakley.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Yarber Mortuary, Birch Tree, Missouri, with Bro. Gary Reagan and Bro. Greg Yount officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2-3:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Birch Tree. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
