Household Hazardous Waste Collections

(for all residents of Douglas, Howell, Oregon, Ozark, Shannon, Texas and Wright counties)

Four events in APRIL at four locations:

EVENT# 1: THURSDAY AFTERNOON, APRIL 20, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 6:30 PM at AVA

Location: Parking lot of Old Bowling Alley at corner of 10th Street and Washington Ave. (turn off Highway 5 south of city park at 4th Avenue -look for signs)

EVENT# 2: FRIDAY MORNING, APRIL 21, 2017 from 7:00 AM until 10:30 AM at HOUSTON

Location: South parking lot of Houston City Hall, 601 S. Grand Avenue (turn west off Sam Houston Blvd one block north of Subway Restaurant -look for signs)

EVENT# 3: FRIDAY AFTERNOON, APRIL 21, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 6:30 PM at THAYER

Location: Oregon County Recycling Center at 1 Taylor Street (turn east at stop light – intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 19 on Holmes Road by 0’ Reilly Auto Parts, stay on Holmes Road past city park; to blue buildings at bottom of hill-look for signs)

EVENT# 4: SATURDAY MORNING, APRIL 22,2017 from 8:00AM until noon at WEST PLAINS

Location: West Plains Transfer Station at 1853 Good Hard Drive (top of Hill east of [behind] Morlan Shell Ford -take Girdley Street beside “Ford dealership” to top of hill and turn right at cemetery- look for signs)

WHAT WILL BE ACCEPTED:

oil base paints- no latex paint; adhesives; aerosols; anti-freeze; arsenic; base caustics; cleaning products; corrosives -acids and oxidizers; flammables; mercury: lamps, thermometers, etc.; light bulbs- Florescent, CFL, sodium, etc., no used oil; pesticides; poisons; reactives; solvents; batteries: lead acid
